Miramar Track Project |
The Miramar Track Project was founded by a group of local Miramar riders in 2009 working in partnership with the Wellington City Council Parks and Garden's team. In 2011, the WMTBC committee extended an invitation to the project to be affiliated with the Club.
The project is actively building a trail network based in the Centennial Reserve on the southern slopes of Mt Crawford. There are is a small network of single track trails, including the now welly famous Jail Brake, a pump track and kiddies loop. The project also plants at least 500 native seedlings every year (and over 2000 to date), removes rubbish from the area and partners with the New Zealand Police to provide opportunities for youth offenders to do community service.
The MTP is headed up by Ben Wilde and Russel Garlick.
